Features
VrmlPad allows for the editing of both local and remote VRML files.
Smart AutoComplete
The Complete command opens a dropdown list box in the Text editor that contains the VRML identifiers appropriate to the grammatical context at the current caret position. The VRML identifiers include keywords, PROTO, node and field names, field types, subfields of SFNode and MFNode fields, names of standard VRML script objects, properties and methods.
Dynamic errors detection
VrmlPad lets the user view and enumerate syntax - and a wide range of semantic errors and warnings, undefined identifiers, non-matched fields, duplicated node definitions and others.
Syntax highlighting
Support for customizable syntax highlighting for VRML (including keywords, field and node categories).
Visual support of the Scene Tree
Support for customizable syntax highlighting for VRML (including keywords, field and node categories).
Operations on the resources
Viewing, editing and navigating the document resources in the Resource view window. Renaming and browsing all references to a resource. Convert, when possible, absolute references to relative and vice versa.
Routing Map
The Routing Map displays the routes in your scene and lets you browse and edit connections between events and exposed fields. Also you can add new routes to a scene more quickly, using the new Add Route dialog.
Integrated script debugger
The integrated script debugger lets you find and fix errors in the inline vrmlscript code in your VRML scenes and on HTML pages with embedded Cortona controls. The integrated script debugger enables you to:
Automation and Scripting
VrmlPad enables the developers to manipulate the program from external applications using the C, C++, Visual Basic(R), and Borland Delphi(R). In addition, advanced users can create add-ins, VBScript and JavaScript macros and execute them from within the VrmlPad environment to automate custom tasks and add visual support.
Multiple documents
You can open multiple files in the same instance of VrmlPad, easily switch between them and find and replace text in all open files. You can browse open files and VRML-dependencies (inlines, anchors and EXTERNPROTOs) of the active document.
Preview scenes
Preview scenes in the installed VRML viewers. Autodetects VRML viewers installed on the computer and the ability to choose a specific one to preview a scene.
Node thumbnails
| Node thumbnails allow you to immediately preview individual VRML nodes as you type (a node thumbnail is a small rendered picture on the special margin of the Text editor).
This feature requires Cortona VRML Client to be installed on your PC. |
Preview of Individual Nodes
In addition to the previewing a whole VRML scene, you can now also preview individual nodes using a default VRML viewer. To do this, move the insertion point at the node text and choose the Node Preview command from the Tools menu.
Saving Workspace Arrangements
Now you can save the information on the placement of all open files and their caret positions, bookmarks, fold settings and debug breakpoints. Once created the workspace file will be automatically loaded and saved when you start and exit VrmlPad.
Publishing
Organize and optimize the scene with dependencies for publishing on the Net, place the files on the Web server or send them by e-mail. The publishing wizard also allows you to include resources into the VRML file body as base64 encoded data, excluding them from the list of published files.
